InTouch

Remote monitoring services

With a proven track record in designing, building and managing data centre infrastructure, Workspace Technology is ideally-positioned to assume responsibility for the management of your mission critical power and data centre assets. ‘Intouch’ is a 24/7 remote monitoring service designed to view your mission critical infrastructure security. Our Technical Support team will monitor and investigate alarm conditions as and when they occur, diagnosing, fixing where possible and arranging for site attendance when deemed appropriate by invoking the ‘Support’ contract SLA on behalf of the client.

There are three remote monitoring services options from which to choose;

Data Centre Infrastructure Remote Monitoring

Our service covers all aspects of essential data centre infrastructure, including power, UPS systems, generator sets, cooling, fire suppression, environmental and security monitoring.

Critical Power Monitoring Services

The Critical Power Monitoring Service delivers 24×365 monitoring of UPS and Generator equipment identifying faults, tracking systems utilisation and helping to avoid the failures.

Managed EcoMeasureTM Services

Workspace Technology’s Managed EcoMeasure™ service provides on-going analysis and interpretation of readings and metrics for data centre facilities. The Managed EcoMeasure™ service helps Data Centre Managers maintain peak ‘PUE’ performance.

Benefits of Intouch include:

  • Online data centre system management tool
  • Internal staff can focus on core business process
  • Fixed and documented deliverables
  • Instant online access to network status, performance and outstanding issues
  • Pro-active, interactive and reactive focus on the critical infrastructure
  • Extensive and proactive monitoring of key performance indicators
  • Short and long-term performance degradation can be detected and corrected in advance
  • Accurate capacity budgeting to make a trend analysis for future resource requirements

Information Gathering

The service is designed to detect and provide an alert to the early warning signs of a potential disaster. The remote system polls the network of nodes which in turn poll the local sensors attached 24×365 and alerts any out of line conditions as they occur.

Intouch can be enhanced with an IP LAN Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera deployment to allow remote surveillance for the room. This enable the Intouch support team to view an area at the time of alert, capture a series of images for future reference or to hone in on a specific area.

Network Operation Centre

Intouch services are managed from our Network Operation Centre facility located in Sutton Coldfield. Utilising state-of-the-art Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools our team will ensure business continuity, equipment security and energy performance 24x365. Supervising from our central management platform our team can help drive improve performance and react quickly in all situations. Once a condition is detected and alarm priority identified, our team assumes a contact procedure pre-defined with the client. Workspace Technology can deploy instant messages through SMS and email. When combined with service contracts, faults can be logged and engineers dispatched without the intervention of the client.

Service Options

Intouch offers several service options including Standard, Premium and Comprehensive to suit individual client requirements.

As detailed below this enables clients to choose from basic monitoring, fault management through to extensive predictive analysis and reporting.

Monthly or quarterly management reports detail activity for key performance indicators. Reports summarise infrastructure activity, review threshold settings and analyse priority alarm activity reports.

The enhanced predictive analysis service provides insight into short and long-term degradation and trend analysis for future equipment and resource requirements. As an example, Workspace Technology can predict the growth of power utilisation and advice and plan for room upgrades or design changes to ensure levels of availability are maintained.
