Workspace Technology’s 24 x 365 Technical Support Centre (TSC) is located at DC One, a 2MVA 250 equipment rack capacity colocation data centre located near Sutton Coldfield town centre. The Technical Support Centre provides a range of support functions including Call Handling, Intouch Remote Monitoring and Service Scheduling.
Intouch is a 24/7 remote monitoring service designed to proactively monitor clients' mission critical data centre infrastructure. The Intouch service deploys Schneider Electric’s industry leading StruxureWare Data Centre Expert software suite combined with Schneider Electric’s powerful Data Centre Infrastructure Management software suite as its core operational platform.
As part of Workspace Technology’s ongoing commitment to develop capabilities within both Intouch Remote Monitoring Services and Colocation Infrastructure Management, they are pleased to announce their latest investment in both software and technology enhancements. Recent enhancements include the addition of Schneider Electric’s full Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools to the existing Data Centre Expert Platform in order to enhance all aspects of essential data centre infrastructure, monitoring and management.
The integration of StruxureWare Data Centre Operation grants the Intouch team to create vendor-agnostic inventory management, recreate data centre physical layouts, support real-time device failure alarming as well as providing recommendations on how to resolve issues. The location-based drill-down view provides Workspace Technology’s Intouch team with a structured overview of all data centre locations, from a global to local view down to single assets.
The Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) calculator supplies information on daily utilisation of energy for supported facilities. This investment significantly enhances Workspace Technology’s Remote Monitoring capabilities and strongly improves their ability to provide a wide range of Maintenance & Support Services to data centre managers across the UK.
Workspace Technology’s Intouch team are now able to remotely diagnose, fix or despatch field service engineers without the need for client intervention.
Mike Sutton, Workspace Technology’s Technical Manager, commented “This investment has without a doubt provided Workspace Technology with a significant technological boost to our existing remote monitoring services. I am confident this recent investment enables Workspace Technology to deliver a distinct competitive advantage over other alternative maintenance options.”
